Indexing and Discoverability
Indexing and Discoverability
Applies to: all 6 EP Journals Group journals.
Effective: 1 May 2026, version 1.0.
This page lists the indexing and discovery services in which Journal of Natural Science Research and Review articles currently appear, the applications that are in progress, and the bibliographic standards we follow to make every article findable. We list only services where the journal's status is verifiable; we do not claim indexing in services we have not actually been accepted into.
Currently indexed
CrossRef
Every article in Journal of Natural Science Research and Review receives a CrossRef Digital Object Identifier (DOI) at publication. The DOI prefix for Journal of Natural Science Research and Review is 10.65150/EP-jnsrr. CrossRef registration provides the article a persistent, citable identifier and supplies its metadata to downstream services that draw on Crossref data: Dimensions, Lens.org, OpenAlex, reference managers (Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, RefWorks), and many others.
You can verify any Journal of Natural Science Research and Review article's CrossRef record at search.crossref.org by searching the article title or DOI.
OpenAIRE
Journal of Natural Science Research and Review is indexed in OpenAIRE, the European open scholarly communication infrastructure. OpenAIRE harvests our metadata via OAI-PMH and includes us in its EXPLORE service. OpenAIRE inclusion satisfies the open access reporting requirements of the European Commission's Horizon Europe programme and many EU member-state research funders.
Zenodo
The full-text PDF of every Journal of Natural Science Research and Review article is deposited in Zenodo, with a Zenodo-issued DOI in addition to the CrossRef DOI. Zenodo deposits provide a second persistent identifier and are part of our long-term preservation strategy.
Google Scholar
Journal of Natural Science Research and Review articles are indexed in Google Scholar. The journal site implements Highwire Press citation tags on every article landing page, which is the standard mechanism Google Scholar uses for full-text and citation harvesting. You can find any Journal of Natural Science Research and Review article in Google Scholar by searching the title.
BASE (Bielefeld Academic Search Engine)
Our metadata is harvested by BASE, one of the largest open-access scholarly discovery services. BASE inclusion supports discovery through European library catalogues and Plan S compliance reporting.
CORE
Our metadata and full text are indexed in CORE, the world's largest aggregator of open access research, operated by the Open University. CORE inclusion supports machine-readable discovery for text and data mining and is one of the corpora used by downstream research analytics services.
OpenAlex
Journal of Natural Science Research and Review is included in OpenAlex, the successor to Microsoft Academic Graph. OpenAlex inclusion provides our content to citation networks, author disambiguation services, and research analytics tools (including Lens.org and ScholarOMeter).
Internet Archive Scholar
Articles are indexed in Internet Archive Scholar (Fatcat), providing redundant full-text discovery and long-term archival.
Applications in progress
The following applications have been submitted, or are in active preparation. We will update this page as decisions are received. We do not claim indexing in any of these services until acceptance is confirmed.
Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
DOAJ is the leading global directory of vetted open access journals. The DOAJ application package documents our editorial board, double-blind peer review process, Open Access Policy, author copyright retention, COPE-aligned ethics, long-term preservation arrangements (PKP|PN, LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, Zenodo), author guidelines, generative AI policy, APC schedule with waiver structure, and reproducibility policy.
The application is targeted for submission in mid-2026. DOAJ approval typically takes 6 to 10 weeks from submission. Once approved, Journal of Natural Science Research and Review will appear in DOAJ, satisfying funder mandates that require DOAJ-listed venues.
Scopus (Elsevier)
Scopus inclusion is a recognized signal of journal quality and is required by some institutional research evaluation frameworks. We are preparing a Scopus application package; submission is planned for late 2026, once the journal has accumulated sufficient publication volume to satisfy Scopus's evaluation criteria.
Web of Science (Clarivate)
We will apply to Clarivate's Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) as a stepping-stone toward inclusion in the core Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) and Arts and Humanities Citation Index (AHCI). The application is planned for late 2026 or early 2027, depending on cumulative publication count.
Scilit and Index Copernicus International
We have applied to Scilit (operated by MDPI) and Index Copernicus International (ICI). ICI provides Eastern and Central European academic visibility.
Subject-specific discovery
Journal of Natural Science Research and Review welcomes inclusion in subject-specific repositories and indexing services relevant to the journal's discipline. Authors are encouraged to deposit copies of accepted manuscripts in the appropriate subject repository:
- SSRN (Social Science Research Network) for social-science work
- RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) for economics-related articles
- PhilPapers for philosophy
- Humanities Commons for humanities work
- arXiv, bioRxiv, PsyArXiv, and similar preprint servers for relevant fields
Subject-specific deposits are complementary to the general bibliographic indexing listed above and increase discoverability within particular research communities.
Bibliographic standards we follow
These are the standards we implement to ensure metadata interoperability with indexing services and discovery platforms:
- CrossRef DOI registration with the journal-article schema, deposited at publication
- OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) for automated harvesting by aggregators
- JATS XML (Journal Article Tag Suite) for article-level metadata
- Highwire Press citation tags on article landing pages, for Google Scholar
- Dublin Core metadata in HTML head sections
- ORCID iDs for authors who provide them, deposited in CrossRef metadata
- Funder identification through CrossRef's funder registry
- License metadata (CC BY 4.0) embedded in CrossRef records and on article first pages
- References deposited with CrossRef so citation linking works downstream
Maximizing your article's reach
If you publish in Journal of Natural Science Research and Review, the following actions on your part will further increase the article's visibility:
- Provide an ORCID iD on submission. ORCID is the cleanest mechanism for author disambiguation across all the indexing services we participate in.
- Provide complete affiliation metadata, including institutional ROR IDs where possible.
- Include funding acknowledgements with the appropriate funder DOIs from the CrossRef funder registry.
- Deposit the version of record in your institutional repository on or shortly after publication. CC BY 4.0 allows immediate self-archiving with no embargo.
- Self-archive in subject repositories (SSRN, RePEc, PhilPapers, etc.) at publication.
- Promote the article through professional networks, conference presentations, and social media. Citation impact is correlated with early circulation.
