Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The Journal of Natural Science Research and Review (JNSRR) is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical behavior in scholarly publishing. This statement outlines the responsibilities and ethical obligations of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, based on internationally recognized guidelines, including those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Manuscripts must report original work that is not under consideration or published elsewhere. Proper citation of all sources is mandatory. Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism or data fabrication, is strictly prohibited.

  • Authorship: Only those who have made significant intellectual contributions should be listed as authors. All authors must approve the final manuscript and its submission.

  • Accurate Reporting and Data Transparency: Authors must ensure honesty and accuracy in presenting research data, methods, and findings. Sufficient detail should be provided to allow replication. Any significant errors discovered post-publication must be reported promptly.

  • Multiple Submissions: Simultaneous submissions to more than one journal or redundant publication of the same work is unethical and unacceptable.

  • Conflict of Interest and Funding Disclosure: All potential financial, personal, or professional conflicts of interest must be disclosed. Sources of funding must be explicitly acknowledged.

  • Ethical Compliance: Research involving humans or animals must meet ethical standards, with documented approvals and informed consent as applicable.

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Fair and Objective Editorial Decisions: Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on originality, academic merit, and relevance, without bias based on authors’ personal or institutional affiliations.

  • Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and not use unpublished materials for personal benefit.

  • Ethical Oversight: Editors are responsible for identifying, investigating, and addressing ethical concerns, including plagiarism and misconduct, and for correcting or retracting published work when necessary.

  • Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts must be treated as confidential documents.

  • Objective and Constructive Evaluation: Reviews should be honest, unbiased, and constructive, focusing on improving the manuscript.

  • Reporting Ethical Concerns: Reviewers should alert editors to any suspected ethical issues or concerns about plagiarism or data integrity.

  • Disclosure of Conflicts: Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and decline reviews if conflicts exist.

Responsibilities of the Publisher

  • Maintaining Integrity: The publisher supports editors in enforcing ethical standards and ensures the permanence and accessibility of the published scientific record.

  • Addressing Misconduct: The publisher will take appropriate actions in cases of ethical breaches, including correction, retraction, or other sanctions, in collaboration with editors.

Handling Misconduct

  • Allegations of plagiarism, fraudulent data, duplicate publication, or authorship disputes will be investigated thoroughly with fairness and transparency.

  • Actions may include rejection, correction, retraction, notification of institutions or funding bodies, and temporary or permanent author bans.

  • Authors are expected to cooperate fully with investigations.

JNSRR practices an inclusive editorial policy and does not tolerate discrimination on any grounds including gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or personal characteristics.
