Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Natural Science Research and Review (JNSRR) upholds strict standards of academic honesty and integrity. Plagiarism, in any form, is a serious violation of these standards and is strictly prohibited. This policy outlines what constitutes plagiarism, how it is detected and handled, and the responsibilities of all participants in the publication process.

What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the act of presenting the ideas, words, data, images, or results of others as one’s own without appropriate acknowledgment. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct Plagiarism: Verbatim copying of text, equations, figures, tables, or data from published or unpublished sources without proper citation.

  • Paraphrased Plagiarism: Rewriting another person’s ideas, findings, or work with minimal changes in wording, without acknowledging the original source.

  • Self-Plagiarism: Submitting one’s own previously published work, in whole or in part, without full disclosure and proper citation.

  • Mosaic or Patchwork Plagiarism: Mixing phrases, sentences, or data from multiple sources as if they are original.

  • Image/Data Plagiarism: Using images, diagrams, or scientific data from other works without correct attribution or permission.

Plagiarism Detection

  • All submissions to JNSRR are checked using reliable plagiarism detection software before peer review.

  • The editorial office reviews similarity reports and assesses the context and extent of any overlap.

  • Manuscripts with a similarity index above 15% or containing unattributed copied material are scrutinized closely and may be desk-rejected or returned to authors for revision.

Author Responsibilities

  • Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original and that all sources are properly cited—this applies to text, data, ideas, methods, tables, figures, and supplementary material.

  • If the authors have used the words, images, or ideas of others, they must clearly acknowledge these sources in line with academic and legal standards.

  • Authors are encouraged to check their manuscripts for inadvertent plagiarism prior to submission.

Editorial Actions in Case of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage (pre- or post-publication), JNSRR will:

  • Notify all authors and request a formal explanation.

  • Reject the manuscript or retract the published article, as appropriate.

  • Inform the authors’ institution(s) or relevant funding/endowment agency(ies) where necessary.

  • In severe or repeated cases, JNSRR may ban offending authors from future submissions for a specified period.

Preventive and Support Measures

  • JNSRR provides clear guidance on citation and ethical writing to all contributors.

  • Authors unfamiliar with best citation or paraphrasing practices are encouraged to seek guidance from the editorial office or consult recognized style guides and ethical standards.

Statement of Compliance

By submitting a manuscript to JNSRR, authors certify that their work is original, properly cited, and complies fully with the journal’s plagiarism policy. This ensures the trustworthiness of scientific communication and upholds the global reputation of both the journal and the authors.
