Publication Ethics

The Journal of Natural Science Research and Review (JNSRR) is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of ethical integrity in scholarly publishing. Our publication ethics policy outlines the responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher to ensure a transparent, fair, and trustworthy research environment.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Originality and Honesty: Submissions must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere. Authors must accurately present their methods, data, and results, with sufficient detail to enable replication. Fabrication, falsification, or knowingly inaccurate statements are strictly prohibited.

  • Authorship: Only those who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors. All co-authors must approve the final version and consent to its submission. Proper acknowledgment of all sources and significant contributors is required.

  • Plagiarism: Authors must ensure all content is original and appropriately cited. Use of others’ work (including their own previous publications) without clear attribution constitutes plagiarism.

  • Multiple or Redundant Submission: Submission of the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time is not allowed.

  • Conflict of Interest and Funding: Authors must disclose all sources of financial support, any relevant financial or personal relationships, and potential conflicts of interest.

  • Data Transparency and Ethics: Researchers should provide access to underlying data where possible and indicate data availability in the manuscript. Studies involving humans or animals must comply with ethical standards and include appropriate approvals and informed consent statements.

  • Corrections and Retractions: If significant errors or ethical breaches are identified post-publication, authors must promptly notify the editors and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions as needed.

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Impartiality and Fairness: Editors evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit, originality, and relevance, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, affiliation, or other personal attributes.

  • Confidentiality: Editors and staff must keep all manuscript information confidential and never use unpublished material for personal gain.

  • Ethical Oversight: Editors take responsibility for investigating allegations of misconduct, including plagiarism, data falsification, or unethical research. When necessary, they will issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retract articles in accordance with COPE guidelines.

  • Disclosure: Editors must declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Objectivity and Constructiveness: Reviewers should provide unbiased, evidence-based feedback that constructively assists authors and editors.

  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential and may not use or share unpublished data or ideas for personal advantage.

  • Recognition of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant, uncited published work when appropriate and report any potential ethical concerns, including plagiarism or data duplication.

  • Disclosure: Reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest and decline the review if a conflict exists.

Responsibilities of the Publisher

  • Integrity of the Scholarly Record: JNSRR maintains the permanent availability of published work and supports editorial independence and ethical decision-making throughout the process.

  • Addressing Misconduct: The publisher coordinates investigations of alleged misconduct, enforcing sanctions when necessary and facilitating retractions, corrections, or expressions of concern as required.

Handling Misconduct and Corrections

JNSRR enforces a zero-tolerance policy for all forms of unethical publication practices, including plagiarism, data manipulation, duplicate submission, and authorship fraud. Cases of confirmed misconduct are handled with transparency, involving rejection, retraction, notification to institutions, and (if warranted) further sanctions.
